It’s the land we love, where we’ve raised our children, cared for the land, built community and small businesses, and are now leading the way in sustainable construction. About Us
Rooted in Boulder Since the 1800s
Boulder Recycled Aggregate is more than a business; it’s a legacy. Our roots run deep in Boulder County, where our family has lived, worked, and cared for the land for generations. Since the late 1800s, we’ve been part of the local story; first as homesteaders and farmers, and now as pioneers of a sustainable future, where our history is recycled and reused, not wasted. stewards of sustainable building practices.
In the 1940s, Harley Keeter Jr. leased out the property for trucking operations, while much of it remained farmland. Mr. Keeter owned the property before selling it in 1960 to an asphalt company. In 2017, the family bought it back, fulfilling a long-held dream to bring it under our care once again. Before operations could begin, we spent years remediating environmental contamination, completing the cleanup in 2012 so we could build a new future on a healthier foundation.
Pioneers in Concrete Recycling
Boulder’s connection to concrete recycling isn’t new to us; it’s part of our family’s story. In the 1970s, an industry publication featured our work, highlighting how we were among the early adopters of recycling concrete. We recognized decades ago what has now become an industry priority: that reusing materials not only preserves natural resources but also reduces environmental impact.
Building a Sustainable Future
Today, Boulder Recycled Aggregate is proud to continue that tradition with a modern, environmentally responsible approach. Our work has kept over 130,000 tons of material out of landfills, reduced CO₂ emissions by up to 200 metric tons annually, and supported local projects from CU Boulder to NOAA. Every load we recycle reduces the demand for virgin aggregate and supports a healthier planet.
Local Commitment, Lasting Impact
As a family-run business, we value the connection between past, present, and future. We are committed to serving Boulder County not only as a trusted supplier but as a community partner—facilitating over $40,000 each year in sales tax revenue and investing in practices that conserve water, reduce waste, and protect the land we have called home for generations.
